L&S equity partner retires to pursue personal interests

Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan (L&S) equity partner S Seetharaman retired after working at the firm for 17 years to pursue personal interests and practise part-time.

“S Seetharaman was one of our senior partners handling WTO issues. He expressed his desire to study and write commentaries on religious texts and also to handle some anti-dumping issues on the side,” L&S managing partner V Lakshmikumaran told India Business Law Journal.

“He was not able to devote time for his personal pursuit due to the workload in the office and hence he took the decision of moving out from our firm. I wish him ‘best of luck’ in both his endeavours,” he added.

Seetharaman was based in the Delhi office of L&S and headed the international trade and WTO team, where he was actively involved in handling matters relating to anti-dumping, anti-subsidy and safeguards.

He worked with the government in various capacities prior to L&S such as deputy secretary, Union Public Service Commission, and deputy controller general of accounts in the Ministry of Finance.
