L&L Partners hired Arjun Rajgopal as a partner in its M&A and private equity practice. Rajgopal will work out of the New Delhi and Bengaluru offices of the firm. He joins from Krishnamurthy & Co where he was a partner and has worked since December 2017.
“My exposure at my immediately preceding firm was largely in the VC [venture capital] space and in mid-market acquisitions,” Rajgopal told Asia Business Law Journal. “Having worked with a large law firm in the past and having worked on several large and marquee transactions at the time, I was keen on returning to a set-up where I would be exposed to mandates of that nature once more.”
Rajgopal says moving to L&L Partners will allow him to work with the firm’s clients The Carlyle Group, Arcelor-Mittal and Nippon Steel in addition to his own. He adds that the client reaction to his move “has been very positive”.
Rajgopal has advised on private equity and VC investments in various sectors including healthcare and pharmaceuticals, renewable energy and aviation.
