Richard Woodworth, who was a founder and co-head of the Asia-Pacific restructuring and recovery group at Allen & Overy, has joined Linklaters as a partner based in Hong Kong handling this Asian sector.

Woodworth is Hong Kong and English law qualified, and brings nearly 20 years of experience in advising on such areas, especially in tackling the unique hurdles posed in many Asian jurisdictions.

His high-profile clients include the Vietnamese shipbuilding industry group Vinashin, the biggest overseas program of the China State Construction Engineering known as Baha Mar, Singapore-based oil and gas company KrisEnergy, and the co-ordinating committees of creditors of ongoing restructurings from PRC property developers.

In June, Linklaters’ Hong Kong-based partner and head of corporate practice, Gilbert Li, left the firm to join Allen & Overy.
