Two recent conferences in New Delhi have addressed the need to reform India’s legal education system.
A two-day event called the “National Consultation for Second Generation Reforms in Legal Education” was jointly organized by the Ministry of Law and Justice, the National Law University, Delhi, and the Bar Council of India.
It was held to discuss modifications to India’s legal education system, particularly proposals to make the system more responsive to the growing needs of international trade, commerce and industry. Also on the agenda was the establishment of a national law university in every state and an online law library.
