A quartet of law firms assisted in social media app ShareChat’s multi-tranched series H fund, raising USD255 million, which pushed it beyond the USD5 billion valuation benchmark.

Google, the Singapore government’s Temasek Holdings, and Indian media conglomerate Times Group along with other existing investors participated in this funding round.

IndusLaw represented the social media platform, with the deal team comprising partners Manish Gupta and Nikita Goyal, with senior associate Rashi Singh.

Other investors were advised by JSA who represented Google with partners Probir Roy Chowdhury and Yajas Setlur, and associate Pranavi Pera as team members.

The Khaitan & Co team of Radhika Agarwal and Amulya Sharma assisted Temasek, while Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, comprising partner Nikhil Sachdeva and senior associate Mayank Malhotra, acted as legal counsel to the Times Group.

Since 2021, ShareChat has so far raised USD1.2 billion. The app is available in 15 languages, has 180 million monthly active users and more than 32 million creators, according to its website.
