Kevin Qian, a co-founding partner of Yuanda China Law Firm, has joined Grandall Law Firm as a general counsel on international development and foreign affairs.

Qian will focus on helping listed Chinese companies tap financing in European capital markets and developing the family wealth practice worldwide.

He has expertise in the M&A, corporate, private equity and venture capital sectors, and in foreign-related business. He has acted for semiconductor companies Huahong International and Jazz to increase their capital investment in joint venture Huahong NEC.

Qian also pioneered new vehicles for Sino-foreign co-operation and arranged exit mechanisms for portfolios in China and overseas capital markets.

His legal career started in 1996. He was the deputy general manager and legal counsel at PepsiCo Investment China, senior legal counsel at Philips Electronics in Asia and a director of the board at SAIC Motor.

He served as a partner of AllBright Law Offices when he returned to law firms in 2001. Before joining Grandall, Qian co-founded Yuanda and the YuandaWinston Alliance.

Qian is also the first mainland lawyer elected as the chairman and a member of the core management of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association.
