Jingtian & Gongcheng has hired Arthur Tsang as a partner in its Shanghai office and Kelvan Cheung as a partner in Hong Kong.
Tsang was previously a partner at Hylands Law Firm. His practice focuses on M&A and investment for multinational corporates and he has helped them expand into China by way of joint ventures, wholly owned foreign enterprises, franchising, or licensing opportunities.
Some of his well known cases include advising listed Jiuzhou Pharmaceutical on acquiring Novartis’ assets and US pharmaceutical R&D assets; representing Neway Valve in overseas investment and asset acquisition in Europe, and advising on licensing between Mengniu Dairy and Moschino.
Cheung joins from Hong Kong’s largest local firm Deacons and is a corporate finance lawyer specialising in IPOs, M&As, private equity transactions, and regulatory compliance matters.
After passing the first exam designed for Hong Kong legal practitioners to practice in the Greater Bay Area, he is also qualified in the nine municipalities of Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan, Foshan, Zhuhai, Zhongshan, Huizhou, Jiangmen and Zhaoqing.
