Kaustubh Nandan Sinha has been recruited as general counsel at Indian real estate company Jaypee Infratech.
Speaking exclusively to India Business Law Journal, Sinha said, “This move is a seamless transition, as I was already engaged with Jaypee Infratech Limited through my earlier role at Suraksha ARC [Asset Reconstruction].
“Stepping into this role allows me to ensure continuity in the implementation of the resolution plan and to help navigate the complex legal and regulatory landscape post-resolution.”
Sinha will oversee legal strategy, regulatory compliance and corporate governance, playing a pivotal role in the company’s ongoing resolution and restructuring efforts.
He brings extensive expertise in corporate law, insolvency and dispute resolution. Prior to his current post, he held key legal positions, including as a counsel at AZB & Partners and as an independent legal consultant. He has managed high-profile litigation before the Supreme Court, high courts, the National Company Law Tribunal, the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal, and other tribunals across India.
At Jaypee Infratech, he will manage complex litigation and navigate critical regulatory frameworks essential to the company’s operations.
His appointment comes at a critical juncture for Jaypee Infratech, as the company undergoes major restructuring under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code. “My vision is to strengthen legal compliance, support operational stability and safeguard the interests of all stakeholders as the company enters a new chapter,” said Sinha.
