The International Trademark Association (INTA) launched “Unreal”, a youth education programme, during its 134th annual meeting from 5 to 9 May in Washington, DC.
The campaign aims to raise awareness among teenagers about trademarks and the effects of counterfeiting and IP theft.
At first it will focus on teenagers in the US, before widening its coverage to other countries and regions. INTA volunteers will interact with youth, both through the internet and by visiting high-school classrooms.
