UK law firm Eversheds boosted its India group with the hire of Gauri Advani, formerly with Denton Wilde Sapte. Advani will head Eversheds’ India team alongside Parmjit Singh, who is responsible for the India group’s strategy.
Eversheds set up its India team in 2006. Today it has 10 lawyers and counts ICICI Bank as a client.
Commenting on the appointment of Advani, Singh, said: “We needed someone who understood the Indian market and had really good contacts. Gauri ticked all the boxes.”
He added: “India is a growing market and has huge potential especially with the government talking about liberalizing the legal market for foreign law firms. We wanted to be at the forefront of this.”
