Hemant Sahai Associates has rebranded with the aim of creating an institutionalized practice. The firm, now known as HSA Advocates, turned to Mumbai-based designer Kanchana Sawant to create a logo that would reflect its new professional look.
Navin Syiem, a partner at HSA said the firm’s partners wanted to steer clear of a brand that looked too futuristic or contained too many sharp edges, so instead went for a conservative approach. The new logo is the firm’s initials in large black and gold lettering accompanied by the old firm name, Hemant Sahai Associates, in small letters below.
Speaking to India Business Law Journal, Syiem said that the firm will eventually drop the old name and use only the new HSA logo. “We had an attorney’s workshop session and several brainstorming exercises,” said Syiem. “We looked at where the firm is at and where the firm should go in the next three to five years and as part of that process, we unveiled the logo. We want to move away from being just a firm named after an individual, to becoming an institution.”
