Han Kun Law Offices has added Hong Kong-based partner Allen Zhang to shore up its debt capital markets practice.
Zhang, who practised at Allen & Overy (now A&O Shearman), Linklaters and King & Wood Mallesons, specialises in offshore debt capital markets. He has handled a wide range of debt capital markets products, such as tender and exchange offers, convertible bonds, floating rate bonds, etc.
He has led the team in designing many bond market debuts, including the first Yulan bond, the first bond cleared by the Macao Central Securities Depository and Clearing, the first sustainability-linked loan relinked bond, the first blue bond in Asia, and the first offshore bond issued by a municipal-level government in China.
Zhang’s track record has extended to serving as lead counsel for China’s Ministry of Finance in all its offshore treasury bond issuances in six years. He has also contributed to the establishment of China’s first offshore central bank note medium-term programme and has represented many municipal-level governments in their offshore bond issuances.
