As supporters of India’s Congress party revelled in the news of its decisive victory, FoxMandal Little, one of the country’s largest law firms, celebrated the election of three of its lawyers to the Lok Sabha, India’s directly elected lower house of parliament.
Agatha Sangma, Hamdullah Sayeed and Mausam Noor have all practised in FoxMandal’s litigation department for over five years. Noor and Sayeed both stood on behalf of the Indian National Congress party, the largest party in the victorious United Progressive Alliance (UPA) coalition. Sangma, meanwhile, contested the election for the Nationalist Congress Party, another UPA member.
“We celebrate the historic victory of these young and dynamic colleagues,” the firm said in a press release. “The three elected are the new generation’s educated leaders who will shine like the sun in Indian political development.”
