Dispute veteran Wang Feng has joined Fangda Partners from TianTong Law Firm, where he held positions as a co-founding partner and head of the Nanjing office.
Wang specialises in handling disputes involving major commercial contracts, investment and financing, equity and cases related to non-performing asset disposal, transfer and assignment of land use rights, as well as property development and construction projects.
In 2014, Wang led a project on “Prevention of Legal Risks in Financing Trade” for the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission. The gazette and the commercial trial guide of the Supreme People’s Court have frequently selected his cases as exemplary.
Regarding his move, Wang said: “Dispute resolution cases are on the rise in the current market, with all types of civil and commercial disputes becoming more frequent, novel and complex. This presents a comprehensive challenge for the business experience and professional ability of dispute resolution lawyers.
“Under this backdrop, the platform and team undoubtedly play a key supportive role.”
With the addition of Wang, the number of partners at Fangda’s Nanjing office is now five. Michael Han, director of the firm’s management committee, said his addition would enhance Fangda’s traditional strengths in dispute resolution, and the growth of the Nanjing office would provide better services to clients in the Yangtze River Delta, and in the east and central regions of China.
TianTong has seen the departure of several dispute resolution experts since last year. In August 2023, 11 partners and senior consultants from Beijing, Shenzhen and Shanghai joined Hui Zhong Law Firm. Du Xiaocheng, head of the Xi’an office, joined JunHe in April and two partners joined in March earlier this year.
