Delhi High Court has acted to end a battle over names between two Indian law firms – Singh & Singh (managed previously by Prathiba Singh) and Singh & Associates, run by managing partner Manoj K Singh.
Prathiba Singh, now a senior advocate, first contacted Manoj Singh in 2010 after seeing an article published by Singh & Associates in an international magazine relating to two patent cases that she was handling. In a response on 11 October 2010, Manoj acknowledged that the similarity in names could confuse clients and assured Prathiba that his firm would not indulge in any misleading activity or misrepresentation. As a result, Prathiba took no action.
