Crypto lender Amber Group’s chief legal officer Benjamin Bai has joined King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) as a Shanghai-based partner, providing legal services for both intellectual property and digital assets and fintech, Law.com reports.

Despite attempts to reach out to KWM for comment, the firm did not provide a response.

Bai brings more than 25 years of experience in intellectual property, having previously served as the chief of Ant Group’s IP legal team before joining Amber Group.

He also previously worked as a partner at both Jones Day and Allen & Overy, where he headed their respective IP practices in China. Additionally, Bai is a US patent attorney who has advised multinational companies in enforcing and protecting their IP rights in China, defended Chinese companies in US courts in infringement actions, and advised on non-contentious IP matters.
