Financial dispute resolution veteran Andrew Chung, with 13 years of in-house experience at Goldman Sachs, has taken over as Linklaters’ managing partner for China from William Liu. Liu will maintain his role as Asia regional managing partner.

Chung specialises in cross-border contentious regulatory investigations and commercial disputes, including internal and governmental investigations relating to financial crime, corruption and fraud, money laundering and international sanctions.

Before joining Linklaters in 2018, Chung was Goldman Sachs’ managing director, honing 13 years of experience in the legal department at this major US investment bank.

Linklaters’ firmwide managing partner Paul Lewis said, “China continues to be an important market for Linklaters and a key part of our global network.”

However, the firm reduced its legal workforce in the Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong offices last year “in response to the prolonged downturn in the China market”.
