Partner Shailendra Kumar Singh, principal Monali Dutta and counsel Alok Shankar have all left Advaita Legal, along with 15 lawyers, to join HSA Advocates as partners in the firm’s New Delhi office.

Commenting on the joint decision to move to HSA, Dutta told India Business Law Journal there were “natural synergies” between the firm and the practice areas that the three seniors work on.

Dutta returns to HSA, having worked there 11 years ago in the firm’s Mumbai office. At the time, she worked under HSA managing partner Hemant Sahai on projects in the infrastructure, aerospace and defence spaces.

“It’s a homecoming for me,” she said. “[My experience there] also helped me contribute to building practices and teams from scratch in Advaita in a short duration.” Dutta has 13 years of experience across practice areas such as infrastructure, aerospace and defence, IT, healthcare and project development, while Shankar has 15 years of regulatory and project experience.

Singh, who was the head of the projects and infrastructure team at Advaita, has 19 years of experience in the infrastructure, energy and resources sectors.
