Norton Rose has agreed to merge with US firm Fulbright & Jaworski, continuing its quest for global expansion. The new firm, Norton Rose Fulbright, will comprise 3,800 lawyers in 55 offices across the US, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Australia, Canada, Africa, Latin America and Central Asia.
Fulbright & Jaworski has 800 lawyers in 11 offices across the US – in Austin, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York, Pittsburgh-Southpointe, San Antonio, St Louis and Washington DC. The firm specializes in dispute resolution, corporate work, intellectual property and banking and finance.
Norton Rose began expanding its practice in 2009 when it acquired Australian law firm Deacons. Following a series of transatlantic tie-ups by other law firms, it went on to merge in 2011 with Canadian law firms Ogilvy Renault and McLeod Dixon and South African firm Deneys Reitz.
