Beijing-based Broad & Bright has hired three partners with strong backgrounds in international practice – Huang Xiaojun, He Yuping and Zhang Libin. The hires bring the number of partners in the firm to 14.

Huang Xiaojun will seek to strengthen the firm’s Japanese business. Before joining the firm he represented many Japanese companies on their domestic and overseas acquisitions, fund establishment and cross-border share sales. He has experience as a legal counsel at Konica Minolta Holdings, and in private practice with now-defunct Coudert Brothers, and Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe.

Meanwhile, He and Zhang will concentrate on the energy sector.

He joins from Beijing´s Hualun Law Firm and has prior experience with US firms Torys and Fulbright & Jaworski. His main practice areas are energy, mergers & acquisitions and general corporate matters.

Zhang joins the firm from his position as partner and chief representative at US energy specialist firm Baker Botts, and prior roles over two decades with international firms such as Paul Weiss Rifkind Wharton & Garrison and White & Case. His main practice areas include foreign direct investment, mergers & acquisitions, energy, environmental law, project finance, dispute resolution and outbound investments.
