Trowers & Hamlins is set to launch a new branch in Singapore with former international managing partner Abdulhaq Mohammed to head the office.

The Singapore Legal Services Regulatory Authority has yet to give approval for Trowers & Hamlins’ new office.

Having worked with Trowers & Hamlins for 24 years, Mohammed, who is now a partner, is a specialist in infrastructure and real estate developments and investment focused on the Middle East and Southeast Asia. He also advises on acquiring real estate assets in the UK and Europe.

Once launched, Mohammed said, the Singapore office will work closely with its Kuala Lumpur office in Malaysia, strengthening its connections in Southeast Asia and promoting co-operation with the member states of the Gulf Co-operation Council, where Trowers & Hamlins has four offices in Dubai, Oman, Bahrain and Abu Dhabi.

Trowers is also eyeing a collaboration with Braddell Brothers, an island state law firm focusing on dispute resolution.
