SNG & Partners has promoted two key personnel, Sanjay Gupta to managing partner and Amit Aggarwal as senior partner, for their leadership and hard work a month after the establishment of a joint venture with R&P Partners.

Gupta, formerly a senior partner, will be managing partner in the dispute resolution practice and has more than three decades of experience at the bar. An ardent practitioner in the alternative dispute resolution space, he has resolved many domestic and international arbitrations.

“Litigation remains an area close to my heart and to see SNG & Partners grow its litigation practice from strength to strength is an absolutely satisfying feeling,” Gupta said.

His core areas of expertise are in commercial and contractual law, laws related to economic offences, industrial and succession laws. He has represented clients at the Supreme Court of India, various high courts across the country, and tribunals and appellate tribunals.

“Sanjay has committed himself to the litigation practice at the firm and has built a team that focuses on a wide range of areas including commercial litigation, arbitration, dispute resolution, insolvency battles, labor disputes and criminal litigation, with a special focus on matters relating to the Economic Offences Wing and the Enforcement Directorate,” managing partner Rajesh Narain Gupta said.

“Under his stewardship, the team at Delhi has also cultivated extensive expertise in domestic and cross-border litigation and arbitration concerning international trade contracts. He has played a pivotal role in developing and managing the litigation practice of the firm and his promotion is truly well-deserved.”

He has also advised alternative investment funds on investing in Indian securities, and family offices on their entry, investment and exit strategies in various industries in India.

The joint venture between SNG and R&P will create a pan-India presence with a combined strength of 25 partners and 120 lawyers.
