The Securities and Exchanges Board of India (SEBI) has introduced a new sub-category under alternate investment funds to recognise special situation funds (SSFs).
On 24 January 2022, the securities regulator notified the amended SEBI (Alternative Investment Funds) Regulations, 2012 (AIF regulations), to introduce the sub-category under category I AIF for funds that will invest in “special situation assets”.
