William Greenlee, a partner and managing director of the Singapore office of DFDL, has left Asia to take a new role as an of counsel at American law firm Fennemore.

In his new role, Greenlee’s practice covers California and Nevada, with a focus on business clients in the San Francisco Bay Area, especially tech companies in and around Silicon Valley.

“Fennemore is a perfect landing place after 16 years in Asia,” Greenlee told Asia Business Law Journal. “I am happy to be assisting my Asian company clients here in the US.”

With more than two decades of experience providing legal advice, Greenlee works on an array of tech and internet matters. In Fennemore, he leads the firm’s cloud initiative – providing quality legal business services to clients without the need for specific brick-and-mortar locations.

Greenlee, who joined DFDL as a partner in the Yangon office in 2009 and became the managing director of Myanmar from 2017-2022, specialises in M&A, corporate and project finance, and securities matters. In Southeast Asia, Greenlee advised clients from a range of sectors, including energy, mining, infrastructure, oil and gas, banking, telecommunications and tourism.
