Sophie Lyall, previously a partner at Ashurst, has joined White & Case in Hong Kong as a partner of the firm’s global financial restructuring and insolvency practice.
Having practiced for 15 years, Lyall is a leading restructuring and insolvency lawyer in the Asia-Pacific. She focuses on front-end restructuring and insolvency matters, including resolution consensus, enforcement and formal proceedings across a broad range of jurisdictions and industries.
Lyall has acted on significant Hong Kong and China-related and global restructurings, and has strong relationships with insolvency practitioners, debtors, credit funds, private equity firms and banks.
Tom Lauria, the head of White & Case’s global financial restructuring and insolvency practice, said the global economy had now entered a period of structural change and the firm expected more large cross-border restructurings and insolvencies in the Asia-Pacific. He also expected Lyall to help further provide White & Case’s clients with a full range of services in this area.
