Shashi Mathews has joined the taxation practice of IndusLaw in its New Delhi office as a partner. He joins from PDS Legal, where he was a director.

Mathews has more than 11 years of experience advising on taxation and regulatory laws including valuation issues, classification, interpretational issues and anti-profiteering regulations.

He has advised and represented a large number of clients in major tax disputes and investigations across various sectors such as telecoms (both infrastructure and service providers), real estate, fast moving consumer goods and information technology, in the capacity of lead counsel and briefing counsel.

“Apart from tax regulatory and disputes capability, our offering in this practice area will now include indirect taxation as well,” Gaurav Dani, a partner at IndusLaw, said of the appointment.

The firm now has 46 partners and more than 220 lawyers across offices in Bengaluru, New Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai.
