Blossom & Credit Law Firm has set up a Suzhou office and new partner Feng Zhe will become the branch director.

Feng, previously a director at Bairui Law Firm in Suzhou, is a dispute resolution specialist in the construction and engineering sector. He also sits on the industry committee at the Suzhou Bar Association.

The Suzhou office, which has 14 legal professionals, is the firm’s second branch in Jiangsu province, following the Nanjing office. This new addition, alongside the existing branches in Shanghai and Hangzhou, enhanced Blossom & Credit’s service network in the Yangzi River region, said the firm.

Feng told China Business Law Journal: “Many foreign companies have their management based in Shanghai, but their actual business and operation departments are set up in Suzhou and its county-level cities.

“We primarily cater to manufacturing companies of this nature, including foreign and Taiwanese companies, as well as the downstream suppliers and logistics providers serving them.”

In recent years, an increasing number of Chinese companies, particularly those from Suzhou, have expanded abroad by relocating their factories to Southeast Asian countries such as Vietnam and Thailand. Feng further highlighted that the Suzhou branch was equipped to offer legal services pertaining to sea transportation and shipping related to these endeavours.
