JunHe advised UK petrochemical titan Shell on PRC law when it developed an ethylene joint venture phase III project with oil giant China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC).

Founding partner Xiao Wei and partners Catherine Miao and Bill Qin led the JunHe team, with support from Du Lijing.

The RMB52.1 billion (USD6.64 billion) project will be injected with unprecedented technologies in China and Asia, creating one of the world’s largest and most flexible integrated complexes.

Phase III was included in the second batch of major national foreign investment projects in February 2019 and was formally incorporated into the national strategy in April 2022.
