The State Council Legislative Affairs Office published drafts of the amended Patent Law and the new Regulation on Service Inventions for public input in April.
It is now more crucial than ever for companies to enter into well-drafted service invention agreements with their employees and to adopt comprehensive company policies to address issues that might arise regarding these inventions. Taking such preventive action can help companies safeguard their IP rights and seek to control the costs relating to compensation for inventions.
