Allowing an appeal in National Aluminium Co Ltd & Ors v Ananta Kishore Rout & Ors, the Supreme Court held that the “fixation of pay scale is a delicate mechanism which requires various considerations including financial capacity, responsibility, educational qualification, mode of appointment, etc. and it has a cascading effect”.
