Reynolds Porter Chamberlain (RPC) has hired Peter Kwon as partner to head up its newly formed Korea desk in Hong Kong. Kwon joined from Ashurst, where he was a partner in Hong Kong and co-head of Korea practice since 2009.

Kwon will support RPC’s focus on expanding its presence in South Korea with his extensive experience assisting Korean financial institutions, industrial conglomerates and investment funds in major cross-border disputes, as well in securities regulatory matters.

RPC’s managing partner, James Miller in London, said that Kwon was a well-connected lawyer and would help the firm to forge new relationships with Korean clients. “Peter’s arrival is a key strategic hire, which will not only open up new exciting opportunities with the 12th-largest economy in the world, but also put us on the front foot of developing our international presence and responding to evolving market opportunities,” said Miller.
