Jones Day has added five partners to its Australian practice, strengthening its presence across disputes, financial markets, energy, corporate and IP.
Dylan McKimmie joins the global dispute practice in Brisbane and arrives from Norton Rose Fulbright, where he was head of the Brisbane office and co-head of the energy practice in Australia. He focuses on major resource and infrastructure project disputes, commercial disputes, construction disputes and regulatory litigation, both in Australia and internationally.
Leigh De Jong joins the financial markets practice and previously worked at MinterEllison, where he led the banking and finance practice in Sydney. He advises lenders, borrowers, sponsors, corporates, private equity funds and sovereign wealth funds on sophisticated real estate and corporate finance transactions.
Christopher Flynn moves to Jones Day’s energy team from Gilbert + Tobin, where he headed the energy, resources and infrastructure practice. His experience covers complex M&A, project development and cross-border ventures across the energy, security, data, defence, space and telecommunications industries in more than 60 jurisdictions.
Lance Sacks is the newest member of the corporate practice and arrives from Baker McKenzie, where he co-led the Australian transactions practice. He specialises in complex M&A, private equity investments and capital raisings in various industries such as technology, financial services, consumer goods and energy.
Ken Saurajen joins the IP practice from Clayton Utz, where he was co-partner in charge of the Sydney office and national head of the technology law practice. His work centres on complex technology transactions and advising company boards on large-scale technology, infrastructure and engineering projects.
De Jong, Flynn, Sacks and Saurajen join Jones Day’s Sydney office.
“These five new partners enhance and expand the talent we can offer our clients here. All five are recognised leading practitioners. And while they each focus on different practices, all fully embrace Jones Day’s approach to achieving best-in-class client service through deep client engagement, seamless collaboration and long-term commitment to our clients and their interests,” Chris Lovrien, Jones Day’s partner-in-charge of Australia, told Asia Business Law Journal.
