Vaish Associates Advocates has seen the departure of four senior lawyers led by partner Satwinder Singh to launch a new firm named Aekom Legal in July.
Associate partner NPS Chawla and three principal associates, Sujoy Datta, Kalpit Khandelwal and Lokesh Dhyani, join Singh at Aekom.
Both Singh and Chawla were with Vaish Associates for more than 24 years and 14 years, respectively.
“Aekom Legal will specialise in innovative, business-oriented solutions to corporates and also provide tactical dispute resolution support. Unwavering ethics, uncompromisable quality and timely delivery are core beliefs at Aekom,” Chawla said.
The firm will focus on corporate and securities law matters, inbound and outbound transactions, M&A, acquisitions of stressed assets under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC), corporate restructuring, real estate and stamp duty issues.
It will also include a dispute resolution practice, including arbitration, IBC and company law, derivative and class action suits, oppression mismanagement petitions, white-collar crimes and a wide gamut of civil suits.
Aekom Legal comprises five partners and more than 25 practioners.
