Software giant Microsoft is expected to begin outsourcing general legal work to India following its signing of an agreement with legal process outsourcing (LPO) company CPA Global. The news comes after CPA outlined plans to expand its Indian workforce from 600 to 1,000 by the end of 2011.

CPA’s chief financial officer for India, Anand Sharma, told Legal Week, “The arrangement principally involves legal research work with a flexible shared service team (varying according to transactions) handling matters for the company.”
