Nitu Agarwal left her deputy GM group legal role at Mahindra & Mahindra to set up her own firm, YNSS Law Offices, aimed at catering to clients seeking reasonably priced legal services.

“While working in-house, I noticed that there weren’t enough law firms able to undertake transactions-related work at reasonable costs,” said Agarwal who added that there was a gap in the market for firms to provide quality services less expensively.

“Most transactions are handled by big or medium sized law firms, which turns out to be a very expensive proposition particularly for indigenous companies. I feel good service at reasonable costs is somewhat unique to the Indian market.”

Agarwal was with Mahindra & Mahindra for more than five years after working at JSA, Juris Corp, and Singhania & Partners.

She specialises in providing services related to general corporate commercial, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, debt investments, insolvency and bankruptcy and dispute resolution.

Founded in November 2021, the firm currently has six lawyers and focuses on M&A, private equity, debt and corporate commercial.

“I plan to add the dispute resolution practice soon so that the firm becomes a full service and one stop law firm for my clients,” said Agrawal. “The firm currently is handling some dispute resolution work, including some arbitration related work. We believe that this is an area we can expand in.”
