Christopher Manoharan and Ramasamy Santhanakrishnan have joined Kochhar & Co at its Chennai office as senior partner and partner, respectively.
Manoharan specialises in corporate commercial transactions, venture capital and private equity transactions, joint ventures, trademark litigation and raid execution, large IT outsourcing deals, licensing agreements, commercial real estate, employment law, and government policy.
He has experience in handling early-stage investments in venture funding and private equity, joint ventures and technical collaborations. Additionally, he has also advised and represented clients before the National Company Law Tribunal and the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal in Chennai.
Santhanakrishnan focuses on corporate compliance and advisory, dispute resolution, employment, insolvency and intellectual property laws.
He has more than 10 years of experience and has represented top multinationals, blue-chip IT companies, automotive makers and several other companies before the Madras High Court, Bombay High Court and various other forums in matters of civil litigation, consumer protection, debt recovery litigation, employment matters, sexual harassment claims, intellectual property disputes, along with arbitrations.
In the past few years, the firm has expanded its recruitment for talents both in the Middle East and the US, which reflects its focus on fulfilling the diverse needs of its clients across south India.
Earlier this year, Sujatha Rangachari had also joined the Chennai office as a senior partner to expand its banking, project finance and real estate practices in the south India region.
She has more than 25 years’ experience in banking, having led the in-house legal team at various banks and financial institutions traversing diverse practice areas including retail, corporate finance, new products and initiatives, debt restructuring and financial recovery.
