The new office will be headed by partner Adam Li, previously one of the founders of Fangda Partners before joining JunHe in 2003. He has been based in the Silicon Valley office since 2013.

Li specialises in corporate and M&A, PE and outbound investments, and has been instrumental in many groundbreaking projects, including the first IPO in China involving lawyers, the first B-share IPO and the first GDR issuance in China.

Seattle – home to several major technology companies and branches of Google, Apple, Facebook, Alibaba and Tencent – has become a significant hub for innovation and research.

“Emerging technologies have become the economic engine of Seattle … [Seattle] has become the trade hub of the Pacific region of the US, as well as the business and cultural centre of the northwest, and a high-tech hub that rivals Silicon Valley,” JunHe said.

The firm aims to enhance investment and business activities between China and US through its Seattle branch.
