Tanner De Witt has hired commercial and regulatory lawyer Munenori Kaku as a consultant in its corporate and commercial practice in Hong Kong. He joined after serving as head of legal at SMBC Nikko Securities in Hong Kong for more than seven years.
Kaku is dual qualified in Hong Kong and New York, and has a focus on general corporate and securities regulations. He advises clients on commercial transactional matters and regulatory and compliance.
A native Japanese speaker, Kaku worked at Japanese financial holding company Nomura in Hong Kong as an associate general manager of its transaction legal department for three-and-a-half years after serving as an associate at a boutique firm Ohashi & Horn in New York in 2009 and 2010.
