Ogier has strengthened its IP prowess with the hire of global IP expert Sophie Peat as partner in the Cayman Islands and team head, bringing the total number of partners at the firm to 100. Peat moved from Cayman law firm HSM where she was a partner for almost two years.
Peat has more than a decade of experience in the clearance, prosecution and enforcement of the full range of IP rights including trademarks, copyright, industrial designs and patents. She has handled the IP portfolios of some of the most prominent companies in the world across a wide range of industries.
James Bergstrom, Ogier’s partner in the Cayman Islands, said that as a result of a merger with Dublin-based Leman Solicitors last March, the firm would grow strategically with the appointment of new executives.
“Sophie’s arrival is excellent news for Ogier’s IP offering as we continue to expand our offering in response to client demand,” said Bergstrom.
