According to Booz Allen Hamilton, across the world, more than one out of six CEOs at large, publicly traded companies loses his or her job every year. Almost half are due to poor performance or mergers.

With the many challenges of the CEO, not the least of which are earnings, personnel, and the ever-changing marketplace, it would appear to be very difficult to focus attention on public affairs and public policy.
