Former HSF lawyer leads Kudun’s Japan practice

Thai law firm Kudun & Partners has opened a Japan practice with the hiring of partner Emi Rowse Igusa as the head. Igusa previously worked at Herbert Smith Freehills in Bangkok, Hong Kong and Japan as an of counsel and in many roles from 2008 to 2016.

Igusa is a senior litigator with more than 17 years of experience advising and representing clients throughout the Asia-Pacific in commercial litigation and international arbitration. She has represented numerous clients in arbitration cases under the many international arbitration centres and is experienced in advising clients on commercial contracts, shareholder and joint venture disputes, employment law, investigations and competition law.

Having been active in pro bono work and corporate social responsibility activities, Igusa will lead similar initiatives at Kudun & Partners. Her addition to the partnership increased the firm’s partner headcount to 15, three of whom are women.
