After almost three years as a counsel at Carey Olsen, Hong Kong-based offshore funds lawyer Eason Huang returns as a registered foreign lawyer at Appleby, where he will also split his time with the firm’s Shanghai office as a partner.
Huang, formerly a legal manager at Appleby from 2017-2020, has almost 10 years of offshore experience, with expertise in the formation, management and operation of a wide range of open and closed-ended investment funds, advising funds throughout their operational lifespan, with a focus on fund setup and governance.
He has represented various sponsors on fund formations, with a track record of counseling institutional investors to facilitate their investments in private equity and hedge funds across the region.
Huang also has an extensive understanding of the legal requirements surrounding cryptocurrency fund launches.
