Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas (CAM) and Allen & Overy advised Wipro in its recent USD750 million overseas bond offering, while Linklaters and AZB & Partners advised the initial purchasers.

The bonds issued by Wipro’s US subsidiary, Wipro IT Services, were allotted on 24 June and guaranteed by the New York Stock Exchange, National Stock Exchange of India and BSE-listed Wipro. The deal marked the Wipro group’s debut in the bond markets.

Allen & Overy’s team comprised partners Pallavi Gopinath Aney, Alexander Stathopoulos and Felipe Duque, and associate Serena Upadhyay.

AZB & Partners’ team comprised partners Srinath Dasari and Varoon Chandra, and senior associates Shantanu Singh and Bharat Mordani.

Linklaters’ team was led by partners Amit Singh and Michele Discepola, while counsel Lim Xunming and managing associates Calvin Soon and Jairo Carvalho Lamatina assisted.

The rule 144A/Reg S offering of senior notes carry a 1.5% coupon and are listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange. The proceeds of the issue are to be used to refinance or repay the company’s existing debts, and for general corporate purposes.
