Bharucha & Partners has recruited Kumkum Sen from Rajinder Narain & Co to head its new office in Delhi.
Sen brings wide-ranging experience to the firm, having worked on numerous inbound and outbound mergers and acquisitions, divestments and infrastructure projects. She has also handled dispute resolution matters, including domestic and international arbitration. As a Supreme Court advocate-on-record, Sen has considerable experience as an arguing counsel.
Sen has represented large corporations on transnational matters. They include BMW, Starwood, Sumitomo Electric, GE Energy, Areva, ALSTOM and Sinochem.
She has also represented public-sector enterprises such as the Delhi Metro and Delhi Development Authority.
“Kumkum is a seasoned practitioner; her skills, reputation and temperament matched the expectations of Bharucha & Partners – excellence and timely delivery,” MP Bharucha, a senior partner at Bharucha & Partners, told India Business Law Journal.
Sen began her career as arguing counsel with the SB Mukherjee, a senior advocate in Kolkata, and then moved to Delhi to take up a position with Khaitan & Co.
She was subsequently one of the founding partners of Khaitan & Khaitan (now known as Khaitan & Jaykar), where she remained until joining Delhi-based Rajinder Narain & Co in 2004.
