UK-based law firm Allen & Overy, which has a tie-up with Indian firm Trilegal, has decided to outsource certain legal work in a bid to reduce costs. The firm plans to outsource some of its litigation document review work to Integreon, a legal process outsourcing (LPO) provider with teams in Mumbai, New Delhi and New York. The law firm expects to achieve cost savings of 30-50% on the outsourced work.
Allen & Overy litigation support specialist Vince Neicho said at The Lawyer’s inaugural conference on Legal Process Outsourcing and Offshoring: “We put together a suite of options [for clients] including offshore outsourcing, a reduced paralegal rate in our London office and the [improved] use of technology.”
The firm has opted to outsource work to Integreon on a case-by-case basis, rather than signing a contract for a dedicated team. “The main reason is the fluctuation in the workload – we might go a few weeks with nothing at all, or a client might opt for another of our suite of options,” Neicho explained.
