The Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) Asia-Pacific will conduct its virtual annual meeting under the theme of transforming the modern law department. The 2021 Virtual ACC Xchange takes place on 16-17 June.
In partnership with ACC’s law department management network and legal operations section, the ACC Xchange is billed as offering current and future legal leaders with the opportunity to discover best practices. The virtual conference will deliver the experience of supporting legal innovation and exchanging ideas with “a day of learning and a day of doing”.
“We are excited to deliver this event to the Asia-Pacific in-house legal community,” Tanya Khan, vice president and managing director of ACC Australia and Asia-Pacific, told Asia Business Law Journal.
“In-house legal departments worldwide are at the forefront of business innovation, and the ACC Asia-Pacific Xchange will highlight real solutions for legal leaders as they pursue opportunities for innovative thinking and improved decision making.”
Khan says the array of programming has been designed to help participants to hone leadership skills for innovative thinking and improved decision-making, build and implement frameworks for improving department practices and processes, acquire the necessary information to create cutting-edge ideas that secure C-suite approval, track metrics to justify investment and show value in new tools and resources, and benchmark where the legal department stands in relation to peers.
With a theme of Transformation for the Modern Law Department, the ACC Xchange will deliver a unique learning experience focusing on legal transformation and innovation in a regional and global context with a speaker lineup containing prominent in-house leaders including:
- Rebecca Lim, group legal counsel and enterprise executive of Westpac Group.
- Chee Kin Lam, legal compliance and secretariat managing director and head of DBS.
- Lisa Mather, chief international counsel of PayPal.
- Bernd Dudel, head of legal and compliance Asia-Pacific of Siemens Healthineers.
- Dion Harrington, head of legal operations of Rio Tinto.
