APFL Partners, the Vietnamese arm of French firm LPA Law, has appointed Minh Nguyen as a partner and head of the dispute resolution and arbitration practice at its Ho Chi Minh City office.
Nguyen, who joins from ACSV Legal, also brings associates Anh Nguyen and Thieu Mai to APFL. She spent more than seven years at ACSV Legal, most recently serving as special counsel and head of the dispute resolution practice.
With more than 15 years of experience, Nguyen specialises in commercial litigation, international arbitration and employment disputes. She also advises and represents multinational corporations and domestic clients in complex, high-value disputes before the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC).
She also advises on executive employment disputes and strategic risk management across a range of industries, including manufacturing, consumer goods and other regulated sectors.
“APFL had been looking for the right person to lead and further develop our arbitration and dispute resolution practice, and we were deliberate in taking the time to find the best fit. Minh’s outstanding credentials, extensive experience in complex cross-border disputes, and background at working in international law firms made her a natural choice,” Arnaud Bourrut-Lacouture, managing partner of APFL Partners, told Asia Business Law Journal.
Bourrut-Lacouture said that while there were no plans to further grow the dispute resolution team, the firm was focusing its recruitment efforts on another practice area.
“At present, our recruitment efforts are primarily focused on strengthening our corporate practice,” he said.
