Fangda Partners has appointed Constance Zhao as a partner in its dispute resolution practice in Singapore, further strengthening the firm’s capabilities in the Southeast Asian market.

Zhao is qualified to advise on Singapore law and focuses on cross‑border dispute resolution and international arbitration. She has acted in complex international arbitrations conducted under the rules of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre, the International Chamber of Commerce, the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre and the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission, as well as in ad hoc proceedings under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules.

She has represented clients in the energy, technology, manufacturing and construction sectors, with matters involving the international sale of goods, intellectual property, technology licensing, construction projects, investment agreements, shareholder disputes and joint venture disputes.

Prior to joining Fangda, Zhao served as special counsel at King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) from 2022. Following King & Wood’s split with Mallesons in March 2026, she remained in Singapore with Mallesons, continuing to practise as special counsel. Earlier in her career, between 2016 and 2019, she worked at KWM’s Singapore, London and Beijing offices, serving as an associate and later as a senior foreign legal consultant.

From 2019 to 2022, Zhao was senior assistant director in the International Legal Division of Singapore’s Ministry of Law.

Earlier still, she practised at Singapore law firms Kelvin Chia Partnership and Drew & Napier.
