Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co (SAM) advised Power Finance on a INR49.29 billion (USD579.88 million) loan to Juniper Green Stellar for the development of a solar-wind hybrid renewable electricity project incorporating a battery energy storage system (BESS).
The current project comprises 468.30MW of wind capacity, 265MW/397.5 MWp of solar capacity, and 103MW/206MWh of BESS capacity, and is located in the city of Barmer, Rajasthan state, and the city of Devbhumi Dwarka, Gujarat state.
SAM partner Anurag Dwivedi led the transaction team, supported by principal associate Prince Singh and associate Amitanshu Saxena.
Juniper Green Stellar’s in-house legal team handled the transaction. In-house counsel also represented the project sponsors, Juniper Green Energy.

Power Finance is an Indian public sector undertaking providing financial support to the local energy sector, and operates under the administrative control of the Ministry of Power.
