Hogan Lovells has added Rob Palmer as a partner in Singapore to fortify its international arbitration practice in Asia.
Nick Williams, APAC’s head of litigation, arbitration and employment at Hogan Lovells, emphasised the significance of this hire, citing Palmer’s reputation and experience as key to the firm’s ability to meet the growing demand for arbitration in Singapore. Williams told Asia Business Law Journal that what influenced this appointment was “the increased use of Singapore by our clients to arbitrate their disputes, coupled with our firm’s commitment to the Southeast Asia region”.
Palmer was previously a managing partner of Ashurst’s Singapore office, where he worked for more than a decade. He brings expertise in energy, construction and infrastructure disputes. He is qualified in multiple jurisdictions, bringing a track record of representing clients across the APAC.
“Singapore continues to be an important hub for international arbitration. Rob’s vast experience and market-leading reputation mean he is a great addition to our disputes practice in Southeast Asia and the wider Asia-Pacific region,” said Williams.
Palmer’s role will also involve leveraging his leadership experience to develop talent within Hogan Lovells and promote a culture of inclusivity.
